Most templates on this page are free to download or copy to your Google Drive — no sign-up or payment required. However, some tools, like the Bulk Payroll Upload System, are designed to be customised to your organisation's exact structure. These involve a small setup fee for our team's configuration work. You can view and explore them before deciding.
What does 'requires customisation' mean?
Some payroll and operations tools need to be set up for your specific business — your departments, allowances, deductions, employee categories, and reporting structure. Our team configures the system to match your setup, tests it, and hands it over ready to use. This one-time setup is what the small fee covers.
Do the templates work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Templates marked as Google Sheet open directly in Google Sheets. XLSX templates can also be opened in Google Sheets by uploading via Google Drive, or by clicking 'Open in Google Sheets' where available.
Are the Kenya payroll templates up to date with current statutory rates?
Yes. The payroll templates reflect current KRA PAYE tax bands, NSSF Tier I and II, SHIF at 2.75%, Affordable Housing Levy (1.5% employee + 1.5% employer), and the NITA employer levy of KES 50 per month.
Can I edit the free templates and save my own copy?
Yes. Download the XLSX file to edit locally in Excel or LibreOffice. For Google Sheets, click 'Open in Google Sheets' — this saves a personal copy to your own Google Drive that you can edit freely.
